Labour continues to hold a narrow lead over Reform UK in Opinium’s latest voting intention poll, with little movement since the previous wave. Andy Burnham also remains comfortably the most positively rated major party leader and continues to lead both Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage on who would make the best Prime Minister.
Labour maintains narrow lead
Labour remains on 27%, two points ahead of Reform UK on 25%. The Conservatives edge up one point to 19%, while the Greens rise to 12% and the Liberal Democrats remain on 10%.
There is similarly little movement in leader approval ratings. Andy Burnham strengthens his position at the top of the rankings, rising three points to net +14.
Kemi Badenoch remains on -4, while Ed Davey falls slightly to -7, his lowest rating of this Parliament. Zack Polanski improves to -21, while Nigel Farage rises five points to -23 but remains the least popular leader tested.
Burnham maintains clear Best Prime Minister leads
Andy Burnham continues to hold substantial advantages over his main rivals when voters are asked who would make the best Prime Minister.
Against Kemi Badenoch, 37% choose Burnham compared with 19% for the Conservative leader. Around a quarter (26%) choose neither.
Burnham holds an even larger advantage over Nigel Farage, with 43% choosing Burnham compared with 24% for the Reform UK leader.
The latest results suggest a broadly stable political picture, with Labour retaining a narrow voting intention lead while Burnham continues to outperform the other major party leaders personally.
Opinium conducted a nationally and politically representative survey of 2,050 UK adults between 26th and 28th August 2026
