Conservatives maintain and increase their lead to 9 points

The Conservative lead expands to 9 points, the largest we’ve seen since May 2020. Conservatives have 45% (+4) vs. 36% (-1) for Labour and 6% (n/c) for the Lib Dems

Boris Johnson’s approval rating is now +3 (41% approve, 38% disapprove) while Keir Starmer’s is +2 (32% approve, 30% disapprove). On the ‘best prime minister’ question, Johnson retains his substantial lead with 38% vs. 25% for Starmer, 22% for ‘none of these’ and 15% for “don’t know”.

Approval of the government’s handling of the pandemic overall is net positive for the first time since last May. 44% approve and 36% disapprove. Driving this is approval for handling of the vaccine rollout which remains incredibly strong with 72% approving 8% disapproving, even among Labour voters (71%) and SNP voters (57%).
