Green and Liberal Democrat voters’ attitudes towards Labour
New polling from Opinium for Zeteo UK explores which policies could make current Green and Liberal Democrat supporters more likely to vote Labour at the next General Election.
The research finds that 37% of Green and Liberal Democrat voters say introducing a wealth tax on individuals with net wealth above £10 million would make them more likely to vote Labour. Raising the personal income tax allowance to at least £15,000 (36%) and bringing water companies into public ownership (31%) also attract substantial support. Other policies tested include suspending all UK arms export licences to Israel (27%) and creating a National Care Service for adult social care (25%).
The polling also explores differences between Green and Liberal Democrat supporters, including which policies appeal to each group. Overall, 18% say there is nothing Labour could do to make them more likely to vote for the party at the next election.

Research methodology
Opinium conducted an online survey of 2,050 UK adults aged 18+ between 9th and 11th September 2026. Results were weighted to be nationally and politically representative of the UK adult population. The questions reported here were asked of 290 respondents who currently intend to vote Green or Liberal Democrat at the next General Election.
