The research did not only reveal that solidarity is a key emotional driver of the current movement, but also showed that expected emotions, such as anger or fear, are actually the smallest identified emotional segments. This is not the first time we?ve experienced social-solidarity driving social media conversation, just remember #BringBackOurGirls from last year.

A second key point to take away from our research is the growing importance of social media in the overall world of public relations and global communications. News coverage only made up 1% of all mentions online, while over 98% of all conversations happened on Twitter.
