The Research for PR Playbook

It’s increasingly difficult to elevate research above the noise of the hundreds of reports and polls released every week.

But that’s no reason to give up on research (as you would expect us to say). In fact, new approaches and techniques offer opportunities for research to generate far more interesting stories and have a greater impact. All it takes is a bit of a creativity.

It’s about taking the tools at your disposal and making them work hard to produce a compelling and innovative story that captures imaginations and attention.

So we have designed a Playbook for all PR professionals showcasing the best methods for generating great creative content from research.

We want to make it useful and usable from the beginning of the research process, pitching your initial idea to the client, all the way through to the very end activating it. And we think there’s something in it for everyone, whether agency or in-house; corporate, consumer or B2B.

More than anything, we want to inspire you with just how many research techniques are out there. Perhaps some of them aren’t right for your client at the moment but hopefully this is a resource you can draw upon whenever you need it.

Finally, we hope that these blogs demonstrate our enthusiasm for coming up with great research ideas. If any of these blogs inspire you, we’d be happy to run one of our complimentary Research for PR workshops with your team. Alternatively, let us know next time you’re at a loss for research ideas and we’ll come in for a brainstorm. Just get in touch: joshglendinning@opinium.com.
