Net zero sacrifices need to have public support to succeed

Our survey done on behalf of consumer watchdog Citizen Advice found that UK adults were not aware of the changes they would have to make to help the Government reach Net Zero by 2050

The survey showed that four in five people (82%) back the commitment to cut greenhouse gases to zero by mid-century, however only 38% are aware they will need to change their heating to a low-carbon alternative such as solar thermal heating to help meet this target.

Whilst almost half (44%) did not realise there will need to switch to an electric car as the sale of petrol and diesel vehicle ends in 2040.

With changes such as these on the horizon public concerns have arisen on implementing them, including the extra cost of energy, what specific changes have to be made, and where to get help if things go wrong.
