Opinium Research discovered that as almost double the number of men (14%) admitted to forgetting the important milestone compared to women (8%), Prince William is more likely to overlook his anniversary than his wife Furthermore, men (7%) are significantly more likely to have to be reminded of the cherished event by their partner than women (2%).

The Royal wedding was one of the most publicised events of 2011 and it was celebrated across the nation. Twelve months later, three in five Brits believe the Royal wedding has boosted the UK?s morale (59%) and almost half believe it has made the Monarchy more likeable (48%). Kate Middleton?s reputation and status have rocketed over the past year as three in five Brits (59%) believe she has become a role model for British women while just over half (55%) think she is now a British icon worldwide.

Opinium Research can also reveal Brits, on average, are expecting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to announce their first baby by the beginning of 2013.

James Endersby, managing director of Opinium Research, commented: ?Will and Kate are a national treasure so it?s no surprise to find Brits have embraced them and their wedding boosted the nation?s morale. As we have found men are more likely to forget their anniversary than women, we hope Prince William remembers to do something special! And if the nation is right, by their next anniversary, we may be expecting a Royal baby!?

Opinium Research carried out an online survey of 2,298 people aged 18+ from 20th to 23rd April 2012. Results have been weighted to nationally representative criteria.
*5.5 million is calculated by taking 252 who have forgotten their anniversary
252/2,298 = 0.11%. 0.11% x 49,969,000 (UK adult population over 18yrs old) = 5.5million
