Opinium most accurate on London Mayoral Election
Our poll on the 2012 London Mayoral Election conducted between the 24th and 30th April 2012 amongst 1,010 London adults from our highly engaged London Panel, correctly predicted that Boris Johnson would achieve 52% of the final vote and would beat Ken Livingston who would achieve 48%.
The final outcome saw Boris leading by four points after the first round, and go on to win the election by 52%-48% after second preferences were re-allocated.
James Endersby, Managing Director of Opinium said: “Any election gives researchers an exciting platform to prove their accuracy. The Opinium political polling team has done an outstanding job in accurately predicting the final result of the 2012 London Mayoral Election and beating most of the other research agencies pretty convincingly.
