Christmas Advert Tracker: Get your carrots this Xmas

It’s the third and final week of the Opinium Xmas ads review, and we have the final entries into this year?s league table.

With Kevin the Carrot already riding high in our overall performance ranking we have another carrot themed offering, this time from McDonalds. A heart-warming tale of a little girl taking a carrot home from her McDonalds meal to give to the reindeer. A simple, straightforward narrative makes this a very enjoyable ad for consumers to watch.

Another new entry into our overall top ten is the return of the iconic ?holidays are coming? Coca Cola ad. Over the years this ad has now become as much part of Xmas as the songs we listen to every year.

?The snow dog? from Barbour, which makes perhaps a surprise appearance on the enjoyment league, is another ad playing on the nostalgia of Xmas. Using the classic Christmas tale of ?The Snowman? to pull at viewers heart strings, although consumers really struggle to link the creative to the brand. †

Now that most brands have aired their Christmas executions for this year, between now and the big day itself, the Opinium Brand & Communications team will be having a look at some of the themes that have come out of this year?s Christmas TV offerings.
