59% oppose sending British troops to Libya

  • 59 per cent of people opposed to sending British troops into Libya
  • 27 per cent in support of responding with military intervention

When asked, 59 per cent of people opposed sending British troops to Libya in response to the Libyan Governments treatment of political protesters. Only one quarter (27 per cent) of people support sending British troops in.

The younger generation of 18-34 year olds is most pro military intervention with 36 per cent supporting action in comparison to 27 per cent of 35-54 year olds and 21 per cent of 55+ years old.

Opinium Research carried out an online survey of 2,022 UK adults aged 18+ from 1st to 3rd March 2011. Results have been weighted to nationally representative criteria.
